CSU Todos Santos is at the intersection of cultures and is a hub for dialogue, engagement, and learning about real-world challenges. Our partnerships center around supporting our local community and enhancing the student experience during their time at CSU Todos Santos.
Understanding community needs
Working in collaboration with researchers from Baja California Sur, CSU conducts community-based participatory research studies to assess complex issues. These “community needs assessments” are ongoing, rooted in dialogue, and foster enduring relationships and collaborations between CSU faculty, students, and the community. Read the 2015 and 2020 Community Needs Assessments.
Stakeholder groups engaging in these studies include youth, women’s groups, farmers, ranchers, fishermen, ejidatarios (communal land holders), school directors, teachers, elected officials, tourism service providers, individuals interested in environmental topics, and expatriates.
Partnerships that connect
We partner with a local non-profit to provide a service to the local community and allow students to volunteer as part of their coursework – volunteer activities include turtle releases, beach cleanups, spay/neuter clinics, zero waste efforts, and working at the recycling center.
The campus also offers services to the local community, including English coursework, composting workshops, and providing space for community activities such as dance and art classes.
