I started my English classes at the CSU Todos Santos Center in March 2024, after learning about the program through Facebook and from friends who recommended it. I had previously studied English in high school and university, where I learned vocabulary and some basic sentence structure. However, when I started working and needed to actually use the language, I realized that my earlier education hadn’t prepared me for real-life conversations—especially when it came to pronunciation.
Since I work in the hospitality industry, where English is essential, the past year of studying has helped me tremendously. Interacting with classmates from different cultures has given me more confidence and allowed me to practice in ways that are directly relevant to my job. It’s been especially helpful to work with others who are in the same field—we’ve formed a supportive group, and that connection strengthens our learning.
One of the most memorable parts of this experience was our first group interaction with students from different cultural backgrounds. Working together as a team helped us build both language skills and friendships.
These classes have greatly improved my ability to communicate in English, especially in professional settings. Living in a town where it’s common to meet people who speak English has made it even more important to be prepared, and this course has truly helped me feel more confident in everyday situations.
My goal is to continue studying so I can grow professionally and earn a higher position—whether in my current role or in a new opportunity. I’ve already recommended this program to friends because it has been so valuable to me. I plan to keep learning as long as I can, because I genuinely enjoy my work, and this language training positions me even better within my industry.
